Customer Review: Oh Joy!
Update: Jul 17, 2009 Below is the review I gave of this unit a while back. No one likes to experience problems but with many electronic items, there will be issues. I had many, such as: color/brightness fading,losing picture altogether, phasing in/out, and a bunch of others. I sent the unit back under warranty. Sceptre sent a shipping container/materials along with paid return shipping (the way it always should be) back to California. When it was returned I noticed a small scratch on the frame around the screen. Other than that, they had given me notice: Hi Rick, we replaced the Main board, the Power board, and the LCD panel. Since then, the picture has been right on the money, none of the prior symptoms have resurfaced. Though it did take some time from returning the unit to receiving it back, I am 100% satisfied with the professionalism of Sceptre and the quality of repair. I was surprised that there wasn’t a complete replacement but I’m guessing that they had all the parts and just swapped them out, tested, and then sent it back to me in its original frame; which was okay with me. Had this or its equivalent since Nov 2007. Purchased through with a two year warranty included. At the time this unit was over $ at the price. All black will not distract you from your viewing. I sometimes watch videos from my PC using a nice long VGA cable. I also use it for PowerPoint presentations for in-home meetings. Has an easy to use menu and auto calibration mode too. Sceptre has been known in computer circles for decent monitors which is why I bought this. I use it for my daily business needs as well as for evening entertainment. IMHO you can’t go wrong with this set as it accommodates even the highest resolution output from today’s gaming graphic cards. So as a TV or as a monitor for your PC, this unit covers all the bases! BTW: I plan on buying a second unit for Christmas.
